Post event press release:

'Klezmer in the Park' on Sunday showed the exuberance of the Jewish people in what has become the greatest free annual Jewish cultural event in London. Six bands thrilled the crowd of over 6000 with Yiddish Twist; Simcha sounds; Sephardi melodies and party tunes. When klezmer beats hit the air, young and old were on their feet enjoying line and circle dances of Eastern Europe. Vivian Wineman, President of the Board of Deputies and Lord Janner speaking from the bandstand said that occasions such as this bring our community together across the generations and the spectrum of Jewish life. They praised the Jewish Music Institute and the Jewish News and Media Group for putting it on, together with all the Jewish culture providers who had stalls and arranged children’s activities in a big tent. Boris Johnson. Mayor of London said via his representative Dan Ritterband that he is especially happy to sponsor free and joyous community events such as this, where communities can come together and share their culture in an iconic London location.

Max Reinhardt
DJ, broadcaster and Festival curator introduced the UK’s leading Klezmer bands and guest celebrities.
